Deaku closes £480K pre-seed round to replace fragmented creator tools with one intelligent AI-powered platform

Written by Christina Levada

Deaku, an intelligent workspace designed to power the Creator Economy, has raised £480K as part of a recent funding round led by Fuel Ventures. The round includes participation from prominent creators including Rob Landes, Charles Berthoud, Rob Van Impe and Mario Joos - the strategist behind many of Mr Beast’s viral videos.

Founded by childhood friends Oscar Ferguson and Harrison Chapman, the raise marks an important step in Deaku’s mission to provide the “missing infrastructure layer” of the Creator Economy - a rapidly-growing market that’s currently valued at $250b worldwide. While traditional media has had decades to build systems and standards, the Creator Economy - now supporting millions of professional creators globally - remains fragmented, with creators and production teams relying on multiple disconnected tools.

Deaku is building the backbone of the Creator Economy, replacing these disconnected tool stacks with one intelligent, purpose-built connected workspace. The platform brings together strategy, analytics, collaboration and AI in a single system, helping creators and marketing teams move faster, create better content, and monetise more effectively.

The platform’s core differentiator lies in its intelligent, context-aware infrastructure. By housing strategy, data, communication and content in one environment, Deaku enables AI systems that understand each creator’s unique style, analytics and workflow - removing guesswork and allowing creators to move faster and more strategically.

Deaku was born out of the founders’ first-hand experience building inside the Creator Economy. Ferguson, a former NHS doctor, initially moved into content to help counter the spread of medical misinformation online, partnering with childhood friend Chapman, who had built a video production business working with some of the world’s largest YouTubers. As they scaled their own workflows, they encountered the same challenge faced by creators everywhere: a costly, fragmented stack of tools that didn’t connect. Deaku was created to replace these disconnected tools and provide much-needed infrastructure for creators with one intelligent workspace built specifically for creator-led businesses.

The new capital will be used to accelerate product development, expand the engineering team, strengthen support capabilities and fund go-to-market initiatives, including partnerships with leading creator-economy voices.

Oscar Ferguson, Co-founder of Deaku, said:

"The Creator Economy has grown at extraordinary speed, but the infrastructure hasn’t kept up. Creators are forced to patch together multiple tools that don’t speak to each other. Deaku changes that. We’re building the connected workspace that creators and teams actually need - one system that understands their strategy, their data and their workflow."

Mark Pearson, Founder of Fuel Ventures, commented:

“What stood out to us was Oscar and Harrison’s combination of first-hand insight into the challenges the industry is facing and product vision. They’re not just building another creator tool - they’re laying the operational foundations for how modern creator-led businesses run. Deaku is positioned to become a foundational platform in this rapidly-growing sector, and we’re excited to support its growth.”
