Synthax Secures £500K to Bring AI Operating Systems to Outpatient Clinics
Written by Christina Levada
Synthax, the AI-powered operating system for outpatient clinics, today announced it has closed a £500k funding round at a £6.5m post-money valuation to accelerate adoption across the US and global healthcare market. The oversubscribed round, led by Fuel Ventures and including Anerly, and angel investors such as two US based cardiologists, highlights strong confidence in Synthax’s mission to reduce the administrative burden on clinicians and level the playing field for outpatient clinics.
The funding comes at a critical time for the healthcare industry:
Founded by NHS doctor and CEO Dr. Shaheer Aslam Joiya and CTO Mark Murtagh, Synthax was created from frontline frustration with healthcare’s outdated systems. Its vision is to be the operating system for outpatient clinics, combining automation, AI decision support and real-time data insights to boost efficiency and patient outcomes.
Synthax enables clinics to:
The funding will be used to expand Synthax’s engineering team, fast-track product development, and scale commercial adoption across both US and UK markets.
Dr. Shaheer Aslam Joiya, CEO and Co-Founder of Synthax, said:
"As a clinician, I've seen how much of our time is swallowed by paperwork and antiquated systems. Synthax is our answer to that – to equip outpatient clinics with the same AI advantages larger institutions enjoy. The gap in this market is enormous, particularly in the US where thousands of independent clinics still lack access to modern tools. This investment will enable us to hire top engineering talent and accelerate our growth across the US and beyond."
Mark Murtagh, CTO and Co-Founder of Synthax, said:
“From global tech to high potential healthtech, I’ve seen the difference good engineering makes. In healthcare, small clinics have been left behind. By combining medical insight with scalable tech, we’re building a platform to change that.”
Mark Pearson, Managing Partner at Fuel Ventures, said:
“Shaheer and Mark are tackling one of the biggest inefficiencies in healthcare with practical, scalable technology. Outpatient clinics are an essential but underserved part of the system, and Synthax’s platform brings the benefits of AI to a space long overlooked by innovation. We’re excited to back a team with deep domain insight and proven technical execution as they expand across the US and the UK.”
